Speedscreen opts for Epson Stylus Pro 11880
Display printer Speedscreen has broadened its wide-format offering after opting for what it described as a "must-have machine", the Epson Stylus Pro 11880. The 1.6m aqueous inkjet printer will be installed later this month and will complement the company is Durst Rho 800 Presto, Roland eco-solvent printer/cutter, three screen printing lines and Kongsberg iXL44 cutting table. Tim Hill, managing director at Maidstone, Kent-based Speedscreen, said the Epson "ticked the last few boxes we needed to tick", and offered extra capacity on several fronts, including high-quality poster work and art reproduction, which Hill said made the Epson 11880 "hard to beat". "Furthermore, it sets the industry standard for proofing and we will be using it to create proofs that comply with Fogra 27. This means we can cross-link it to all platforms across our other digital equipment and even our four-colour screen print," he said. "We find that cross-matching between the different print processes is happening more and more, and we need to have a proofing standard that clients can be confident of." Speedscreen was established in 1986 and the 16-staff company predominantly serves a trade client base. (Gold Printing)
