Coatings supplier Graphic Image Films (GIF) has launched its first biodegradable film for conventional and thermal lamination processes.
According to sales director Sandro Mosquera, the substrate will compete with acetate. He said: "It degrades quite quickly, so obviously it will be good for certain products but not as good for others – you would not use it for books for instance. But we have sent a few sample rolls out and customers liked it."
For wet lamination, reels will be available in 2,000m and 4,000m lengths, for thermal they will be available in 1,500m and 3,000m lengths.(Gold Printing)
