Here are Some Typical Books Printing Formats:
Hardcover Book Printing
Hardcover Books can be cloth-covered (like a textbook or novel), leather covered (like a journal) or printed and laminated (like a photo or art book). All Hardbound books have end sheets which adhere to the text pages and to the inside of the cover.
The hardcover books usually have more pages and are suitable-regular used long-term preservation. We can use hard or semi rigid material. The choice is yours!
Soft Cover Book Printing
These books have a soft card-stock cover. The covers are normally printed in full color with a laminate applied for durability. The text pages and cover are held together with glue at the spine. If the book has a high page count, the text pages and cover are often stitched and then glued at the spine.
Either way, the book will be solid, durable and will not fall apart even in the hands of the most mischievous child!
Board Book Printing
These books have thick, hard covers and text pages. They are usually printed in stunning full color. The binding and pages are durable,ideal for children's books which often take a lot of punishment! As with the ‘softbound’ option, the text pages and cover are held together with glue at the spine. If the book has a high page count, the text pages and cover are often stitched and then glued at the spine.
'Wire-O' or Spiral-Bound Book Printing
These books have a soft, card-stock cover. The covers are usually printed in full color with a laminate applied for durability. The text pages and cover are held together with exposed spiral wire or plastic binding. A concealed ‘Wire-O’ bind neatly brings all the pieces together. (The spine will usually have the title on it so it is clearly identifiable on a shelf.) This type of binding allows the pages to be laid perfectly flat—this is a major advantage for books like cookbooks, journals or instructional books. After all, if you’re in the kitchen, you don’t want to lift your cookbook every thirty seconds whilst you are trying to make a Double Chocolate Gateau!
