Clays, a book printer based in Bungay, UK, has installed a Kodak Prosper 1000 press into its integrated book production line, as part of an increased adoption of digital production, says Kodak.
The Kodak Prosper 1000, a monochrome digital ink-jet press, works with equipment such as a Muller Martini Sigmaline in-line finishing system in Clays's Suffolk site. Clays is also completing the installation of a full, bespoke Kodak Prinergy workflow system, and uses a Kodak Digimaster EX150 digital production system for print-on-demand work.
"By taking digital book production to new levels of speed, quality and capacity, we are in dialogue with our publishing house customers to demonstrate the advantages that Clays can provide - through print solutions for any run length from one to a million on the same paper substrate and with no quality difference," says Kate McFarlan, managing director, Clays.
Erwin Busselot, Kodak’s marketing director of Digital Printing for EMEA, adds: “Kodak has a strong partnership with Clays, working to support its drive to address online book ordering and increase digital output." |
