Agfa launches Jeti 1224 UV HDC inkjet printer

Agfa has launched the Jeti 1224 UV HDC inkjet printer, its first machine to be revealed since the group bought the Jeti business from Gandinnovations.

The flatbed inkjet machine can print at a throughput of up to 110sqm in express mode, 54sqm in production mode and 36sqm in quality operation.

According to the manufacturer, the printer is being pitched at the production of point-of-sale displays, backlit signs, lenticular displays and high-resolution banners.

It is also suitable for printing onto substrates such as ceramic tiles and wood. The Jeti 1224 can print onto materials up to 508mm thick and weighing up to 113kg.

Featuring four colours and white as a standard configuration, the Jeti 1224 can print at resolutions of up to 1,200dpi using Ricoh Gen 4 greyscale printheads. It uses Agfa is Anuvia HD inks.

Richard Barham, vice president of inkjet at Agfa Graphics, said the new Anuvia HD inks used in its Jeti 1224 UV HDC system helps produce a wider color gamut that helps customers "produce output with vibrant color, and provide the lowest ink consumption in its class."

The Jeti 1224 UV HDC inkjet printer will be showcased for the first time on Agfa is stand at ISA in Orlando, FL that runs from 8-10 April 2010.
