Printers across the UK today are having to deal with the fallout of last night is heavy snowfall, which is predicted to continue throughout the day.
Print management company Webmart experienced 8in (20cm) of snow at its base in Bicester (pictured), while Swansea-based Harcourt Litho said barely a couple of inches had fallen and that, despite a reduced staff count, it was business as usual. Online specialists Moo.com reported a similar story.
For Inverness-based Piccolo Press, it was not the snow itself that was causing problems. "Due to the extreme current weather conditions, Piccolo Press has had flooding in its workshop and will not be fully operational until the situation is fixed," it said. "This will inevitably cause delays to printing orders, but we will keep you informed of progress and do our best to give you an honest appraisal of any delays that may occur."
ImageIT has reported heavy snow falling again in the Daventry region, although it claims it is business as usual, with its first customer of the day already by 10am.
According to the BBC, more snow is predicted across the Midlands and North West over the next few days.
Many printers, such as FM Print, have been sending in pictures of their snow-bound premises.(Gold Printing) |
